Natural Ways to Improve Your Memory

Memory loss is a normal part of aging, but that does not mean we cannot take action to slow it down. Even though this can be a truly normal event, having a bad memory can be frustrating.

Many factors play a role in memory loss, including genetics, age, and medical conditions that affect the brain. There are also several risk factors that can be managed for memory loss, diet, lifestyle, and how you treat your body, can affect your memory and your physical health and well-being.

Although not all memory loss can be prevented, people may be able to take action to protect the brain against cognitive decline as age increases.

Reduce alcohol

Drinking too much alcohol increases the risk of memory loss. If someone uses it in the long run, they risk a number of health conditions related to memory.

The results found that alcohol consumption often increases the risk of dementia compared to alcohol consumption which is rare.

Get a regular sleep schedule

Sleep plays an important role in memory consolidation, a process in which short-term memories are strengthened and converted into long-lasting memories.

In a study mentioned.  People who don't sleep well at night tend to be more forgetful than people who sleep well.

Health experts recommend that adults sleep between 7-9 hours each night for optimal health, and help the brain create and store long-term memories.

Take Time to Meditate

Meditation exercises can positively affect your health in many ways, reduce stress and pain, lower blood pressure and even improve memory, improve short-term memory in people of all ages, and can change brain structure and volume.  One of the main benefits of meditation is that it can increase attention and concentration.

Train Your Brain

To stay sharp, your mind needs regular practice in creative thinking, problem solving, and intellectual focus.  To stretch and train your brain, choose the activities you like-reading, playing cards, or doing crosswords are some good examples.

Consumption Less Sugar

Sugar can cause bad memory and reduce brain volume, especially in areas of the brain that store short-term memory.  Eating too much added sugar has been linked to many health problems and chronic diseases, including cognitive decline.  Reducing sugar not only helps your memory but also improves your overall health.

Exercise regularly

Exercise not only keeps your body in shape, it also helps keep your brain in shape.  It is recommended to do at least 30 minutes of activities, such as walking, every day to keep your brain sharp.  because exercise can increase blood circulation to the brain and reduce loss of brain tissue due to aging.  Regular exercise, even with a simple walk, really helps improve your memory and cognitive skills

Eat healthy food

A healthy diet might be as good for your brain as it is for your heart.  Eating nutritious food is great for your brain.  Choose foods that are good for your heart and waist.  Being fat in old age can cause dementia, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure.  Eat fruits, vegetables and whole grains.  Choose low-fat protein sources, such as fish, nuts and skinless poultry.

In addition to fruits and vegetables, elements such as curcumin and B vitamins such as niacin and folic acid can also help prevent memory loss, and can reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
