The unique combination of desire, planning, effort, and perseverance will always work miraculously.  The question is not whether the formula for success will succeed, but whether the person will use the formula.  That is an unknown variable.  That is the challenge facing us all.

Contrary to popular belief, you don't need to make drastic changes to see an improvement in your quality of life.  At the same time  you don't have to wait long to see the measurable results that come from taking positive action.

Here are self improvement tips you need to try for improve your life

1. Conquer Fear and Realize Your True Potential

We all have fears.  Fear can help keep us alive and safe.  But fear can also hold us back, especially if we let it control us.  Take the time to define your fears.  Some fears are valid, but others are just deep-rooted anxiety.  Separate the "real" fear from the worst-case scenario that you let go out of control.  When we face our fears, we build courage and learn to overcome these dark thoughts.

When you overcome your fears, you develop wisdom.  Some of our fears may come true, but living through adversity helps us gain insight.  Even if the worst happens, we can learn to overcome it.  Understanding our fears helps us develop affection for others.

We can put ourselves in the shoes of others and have empathy for what they are experiencing.  And most importantly, facing your fears will help you build resilience and tenacity.  If you have faced your fears, you have learned to overcome obstacles.  You have learned that you can succeed even in difficult circumstances.

2. Learn new skills

What is one thing you have always wanted to learn, but have never taken the time to do?  Maybe you always want to learn to speak a foreign language, play an instrument, knit, or use a sewing machine.  You might expect to have practical skills, such as Photoshop or Excel spreadsheets, but never take the time to learn them, or you might consider doing activities that you used to like but gave up.

Next, look for the resources you need to help you master this new skill.  To learn a foreign language, there are a number of applications available for download.  LinkedIn Learning offers many tutorials to help you with business, management and software.

YouTube is another — great source, offering free tutorials on everything from studying to Rollerblade to using a sewing machine.  Set aside 15-30 minutes every day to practice your new skills, and see how wonderful it feels to start chasing this bigger goal.

3. Declutter your environment

Regardless of whether you are a fan of Marie Kondo's approach to declaring by asking yourself whether an item "triggers happiness," you must admit that living in an orderly and clean environment is a great way to improve your life.  This can reduce feelings of stress and help you operate more efficiently.

An environment free from clutter creates a feeling of comfort and satisfaction in your home and office life.  A neat and tidy space allows you to do your daily tasks more efficiently because everything is available and you know where to find the things you need.

Eliminating clutter is also physically healthier because it removes dust particles that accumulate on all items that we have never used.  And the decuttering process can give you a sense of accomplishment.  You will be proud of your environment, which means less anxiety or shame when visitors stop by.

4. Focus on health

Your health will determine your ability to succeed in every other area of life.  Without a healthy and energetic body, you will never succeed at the highest level.

You must Do:
  • Exercise 4-5 times a week.
  • Eat a whole food diet and reduce buying food from the billions of dollar brands.  (In their meetings, they did not discuss your health, they talked about maximizing shareholder profits and the amount of their bonuses).
  • Sleep 8 hours a night and stop listening to people tell you "lack of sleep so you can do more".  You will live longer than them
  • Check blood, identify nutritional deficiencies, and supplements to correct it.  Most people operate far below their true abilities.
  • Meditate every day to reduce noise and confusion.
  • Spend at least 20 minutes outside in the morning sun to get fresh vitamin D.
Note that all of the above is relatively cheap if not free.  If you do nothing but a few things every week, I promise your life will change.

5. Spend Quality Time with the People That Mean the Most to You

Friends and family are truly a path that can create a lot of excitement in your life.  Take the time to truly experience and appreciate the joy of being around the people who mean the most to you.

I'm talking about quality time that is scheduled in advance every day, no cellphone, no computer, no distractions, no thoughts of being anywhere else, or doing anything but experiencing and appreciating the people who mean the most to you.

Learn from them, teach them, laugh with them, discuss deep problems, and "just shoot."

What's your story  With whom can you spend more time?  And don't say "your poker friend".  Maybe it's your child, maybe your wife or husband, maybe your niece.  Let people know how much you admire and appreciate them by giving them gifts without the price of your time.

7. Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

It's natural to want to see how you stack up compared to the people around you.  Social media has made it easier than ever.

It's easy to get caught up in a cycle of self-hatred, anxiety, and jealousy when comparing where you are in life with friends of your family members.

Doing this will only hold you back.  Remember, no matter how they look on Facebook, these people also have their own challenges.

Plus, everyone has their own circumstances that affect the choices they make.

Our best advice?  Log off, and celebrate your own achievements.

8. Give Back

Many of us struggle with self-esteem.  However, very few of us realize how important we are to so many people around us.

One way to begin to understand how important you are is to give back.

Engage in local voluntary work.  Help look after your community garden, or volunteer at your local soup kitchen.

Even donate some of your own clothing to a shelter, or your design service office for a non-profit organization.

This will help you see value in your life, and you will understand that even small actions can make a big difference.

9. Remember: You Deserve Success

Many people wrongly feel that the reason they are not successful is because they do not deserve it.

Stop blaming yourself for past choices and hope you have done things differently.  You know in your heart that you are as successful as anyone else.

Changing your mindset  and even repeating a positive mantra for yourself in front of the mirror - will increase your confidence.

Wherever you are in life, it's always important to check yourself.  Taking the time to focus on you is far from being selfish - in fact, this can help you be more productive and more empathetic to the people around you.

If you really want to start improving your life, start with small but meaningful steps that you can build with time.

Do new and interesting activities, but start slowly so you don't get overwhelmed.  In a short amount of time, you will begin to see your life improve by taking steps that help you build knowledge.

Increase self-confidence and engage in activities that make you feel healthier and more connected to your inner self and others.
